So WordPress’ lead developer Mark Mullenweg concluded his annual State of the Word speech in Philadelphia last weekend by reading Elizabeth Alexander’s poem “Praise Song for the Day,” proving at least three things: 1) Matt is, as I always suspected, a hippie who believes that open source is based on love; 2) WP’s “code is poetry” slogan does occasionally lead WordPress coders to read actual poetry; and, since this was Obama’s inaugural poem, 3) Matt’s attitude toward the impending inauguration of Trump is exactly what you’d expect.
