Wow, this resonated. The thing I couldn’t abide with math class was that there was only one correct answer. It felt like my brain had been put in a vise. (The one math class I liked was the one everyone else hated: plane geometry. It was visual and you got to write little essays—proofs—which could go in any direction as long as you reached a solution in the end.) Anyway, I couldn’t let #NationalPoetryMonth go by without putting in a plug for this great online journal, which will deliver daily poems to your email just like qarrtsiluni used to do, with the difference that it’s the work of just one super hard-working editor/poet, Christine Klocek-Lim.
