I’ve always had a soft spot for Pureland Buddhism, ever since I was in Japan as an exchange student, got to meet some Jodo Shinshu adherents, read Shinran in translation, and realized that there was a good reason why Pureland, not Zen, was the Buddhism of the people: it was about love, not the pursuit of wisdom or satori. I look forward to reading this. Can’t imagine better authors than Kaspalita Thompson and Satya Robyn.
