OK, but what actually can one say about a book of poems aside from “I liked it” and “here are some excerpts”? Because it kind of diminishes truly original poetry to attempt to describe it in invariably more quotidian language. So reviewers go hyperbolic instead. They are, by and large, appreciative readers, not trained literary critics.
